独身で一人暮らしの若年層が増えているという。世界中の都市のアパートメントの部屋に、同じ家具や食器がある。
時間はたっぷりある、それなのに時間がない。
都心に居ても自然を感じられるように、水槽や植物を部屋に置いている。働かなければならない。持ち物が増えると後々大変だから、極力物を買わないようにしている。
なるべくおしゃれに、安くて軽い、
すぐに選べて、どんな場所に居ても手に入って、すぐに届く、そんなものをひとしきり揃えた。
いつまで使うのかもわからないものに、お金も時間もかけられない。
ずっと好きでいられるのかもわからない。
一人暮らしのあるアパートから着想を得て、ひとつのフィクションのストーリーを組み立て、架空のペルソナを考えた。そのフィクションから着想を得て、ストーリーテリングとしてのインスタレーションを企画した。
ベタという魚は、生きたインテリアと言われ、また、手間がかからないことで有名な魚だ。２００円ほどで売られており、「紙コップでも水道水でも育ちます」とポップに書かれている。しかし戦ってしまうので、水槽に一匹しか入れてはいけない。そんな都会のインテリアの一部であるベタに、イケアのグラスで、ビル街を模した風景を作って、殺風景なアパートを模したインテリアと共に展示した。
Inspired by an urban phenomena, the increasing of small apartment rooms for single persons, I assembled a fictional story and a fictional persona which reflect the figures I know in real life, and myself. Based on the fictional story, I planned an installation as a way of storytelling.
It is said that the number of young people who are single and live alone is increasing.
There in apartment rooms in the urban cities scattered around the world, the furnitures and tablewares look alike. They are sleek, pretty and timely.
They come from a set of the same brands.
We now can feel at home anywhere in the world.
I have plenty of time,
and yet no time.
Aquariums and plants are placed in rooms as a debris of “nature”, so that even if one lives in the concrete jungle one can relax.
I have to work now – get up early, come home early. I try not to buy things as much as possible because it will be difficult to bring more things in this small apartments.
